GIFTS FROM THE HEART
From Human Care, Conference and Zone Fall Rallies 2025
Our LWML MNS District ladies held Gatherings and Servant Events, and collections were held for area mission projects. Following are the Conference and Zone Rallies held Fall 2025. The Servant Events and mission support projects were:
- BLUE EARTH ZONE Mission Gathering was held on October 5th at St Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Speaker was Stan Tordsen, S.A.G.E.S Board Representative “Changing Irrelevant Feelings to Relevant Feelings” in the senior ministry of your congregation. Collected 253 pounds of products for Heaven's Table Food Shelf in Fairmont, MN. There were 180 pounds canned foods, 30 pounds packaged foods, and 43 pounds paper products. Praise the Lord!!
- CAPITIOL CONFERENCE Fall Rally was held on Sept 27th at Mt Olive Lutheran in Anoka. Their speaker was Pastor Trapp speaking about the process of developing relationships with unbelievers in our community so that they will be open to hear the good news. They gathered many items for care bags and put together 36 women's 5 gallon and 3 one gallon bags. The bags included tampons, sanitary pads, granola bars, socks, toothbrushes and paste a comb, deodorant, and a New Testament Bible and bookmark. A few of the bags also included a water bottle and hand cream. They also assembled 23 male- 5 gallon bags included that same as above except pads and tampons. Extras collected were 3 xerox paper boxes of extra men’s, children's and women's socks - plus two extra boxes of toothbrushes and pastes were collected. The total ingathering was $1,259.00 for the Freedom Store.
- CROW RIVER CONFERENCE Fall Rally was held October 18th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Green Isle. Jennifer Prophet, representing Lutheran Hour Ministries did a video presentation on "The Helpful Neighborhood". Each society reported the activities done in their neighborhood throughout the year. A monetary collection of $398.00 was taken for LHM. There were 60 in attendance at the rally.
- LYNDALE CONFERENCE Fall Rally was held Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Rose of Sharon Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove. Speaker was Kim Dickey of Global Health Ministries. GFTH collected included 29 Twin size sets of sheets, 19 quilts, 12 blankets, 4 individual sheets, 4 pillow cases, and $175 cash donations for Global Health Ministries. In addition, they did a Servant Event at the Gathering and assembled a total of 50 Newborn Kits for Global Health Ministries that included: 1 each - lightweight bath towel, washcloth, ivory soap bar, newborn onesie, newborn stocking hat, receiving blanket, and 2 pre-folded cloth diapers & pins. Supplies for this project were purchased with Thrivent Action Team grants and the St. Croix River Zone.
- MINNEAPOLIS CONFERENCE Fall Rally was held October 18th at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, Bloomington with Rev. Fran Green - "Legacy From the Heart" speaking. They had 50 in attendance, collected $276.19 in mites, $333.67 as an offering and gave $780 to the comfort dogs as their GFTH.
- MINNETONKA CONERENCE Their Fall Rally was held October 18, 9 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wayzata with Jessica Albers from Lutheran Bible Translators doing a live video presentation. The GFTH was $255 for Lutheran Bible Translators.
- OWATONNA CONFERENCE Held their Fall Rally on September 27th at Zion Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Speaker was Joshua Holland speaking on small church strategies for church outreach. There were 51 in attendance. GFTH were a monetary collection of $750 for St. John’s Luther School in Wykoff MN, $219.30 sent to the district for offering.
- PIPESTONE ZONE Held their Fall Rally October 11, 9:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Luverne with Dr. Patricia Peters from MOST Ministry speaking. GFTH received included $325.00 cash, $25.00 Walmart Gift Card, 13 Sharpie pens,1 pkg. markers, 1 container of cupcake papers, 1 pkg. of tape, 2 pkgs. of stickers, 4 boxes of Ziploc bags, 2 pkgs. of napkins, 1 quilted desk mat, 2 reams copy paper, and 4 pkgs. card stock.
- WHITEWATER CONFERENCE Fall Rally was held October 18, at Immanuel Lutheran (Silo), Lewiston with Rev. William Boateng - Ghana Church speaking. GFTH collected were 218 filled backpacks and $378 for shipping for Orphan Grain Train.
- WORTHINGTON ZONE Fall Rally was held October 4, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Worthington. Wade Wacker - "Reasons for Hope" was the speaker.They had 60 people attend. The offering sent to the District was $216. Gifts from the Heart went to Southwest Crisis Center and Reasons for Hope Camps. They collected for SW Crisis Center: 14 packages of diapers; 28 packages of baby wipes; 9 feminine products; 70 hair accessories; 65 nail care sets; 23 bottles of cleaning supplies and $20 cash. They collected for Reasons for Hope camps: 68 tubes of toothpaste; 111 toothbrushes; 22 packages of wet wipes; 17 packages of toilet paper; 36 boxes of Kleenex; 24 large bottles of shampoo; 15 large bottles of conditioner; 35 bottles of body lotion; 53 bath soaps; 7 feminine products, and $1505.00.
We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 1:3 NIV).
